How does it work?
What are Doshas?
Concepts of universal interconnectedness, the body's constitution (prakriti), and life forces (doshas) are the primary basis of Ayurvedic medicine.
Doshas are fundamental energies in the body and mind that govern a person's health, personality, and well-being in Ayurvedic medicine. Everyone has a unique fingerprint, each person has a distinct pattern of energy, a specific combination of physical, mental, and emotional characteristics. Ayurveda believes there are three basic energy types called doshas, present in every person.
-
Vata, the energy of wind.
-
Pitta, the energy of fire.
-
Kapha, the energy of water and earth.
There is a dominant dosha in a each one of us. Many things can disturb the energy balance, such as stress, an unhealthy diet, the weather, and strained family relationships.
Ayurveda is based on the idea that illness occurs due to an imbalance between your doshas, body, mind and soul. For that reason, Ayurveda encourages you to have a natural lifestyle, to follow natural therapies, to use herbal medicines and aromatherapy, to care for what you eat, to meditate and to stay balance. But more importantly,
to love and align with your inner-self to bring the doshas back into balance.
Our skin’s condition is a reflection of our inner health and well-being. Healing plants, herbs and essential oils are recognized, according to their holistic properties, and blended into medicinal oils to remedy both the skin and the mind.
More than just skincare. It's a lifestyle.
